Pottery Lessons

Enjoy a pottery lesson in the Creative Garden.  Bella's Wishes pottery lessons are perfect for students no pottery experience and for those with experience who want to learn new techniques and challenge themselves with more difficult projects.

Pottery Wheel

  • Our individual private pottery lessons are $75 per person.
  • A maximum of two individuals may take pottery wheel lessons together.
  • Lesson includes a one-hour lesson on the pottery wheel with the instructor, with the clay prepared for working on the wheel to create an item such as a bowl, vase, or one of many other items.
  • Once the pottery item is made, it will need to dry and then Bella's Wishes will complete the first kiln firing.
  • Once fired, a return visit is required and basic glazing techniques will be provided.   A final kiln firing is required.  A third visit is required to pick up your pottery.   There is an approximate two week time between first firing and then another two weeks between the glazing process and receiving the final product.
  • The result of this lesson is one glazed pottery item.

Pottery Hand-Building

  • Group pottery hand-building classes will also be offered
  • Lesson includes a one-hour of instruction that starts with with clay that you flatten through a slab roller. The slab clay is then formed by hand into your desired product.
  • The types of items that can be made are numerous and range from platters, dishes, egg dishes, and more. Clay can be embellished in a number of ways including carving and stamps to provide a decorative imprint in the clay.
  • Once the pottery item is made, it will need to dry and then Bella's Wishes will complete the first kiln firing.
  • Once fired, a return visit to learn proper glazing techniques is required.   A final kiln firing occurs and then you can pick up your pottery.
  • There is approximately a two week wait between firings.
  • The result of this lesson is one glazed pottery item.
